This year’s Worldwide Conference for Alliott Global Alliance (‘AGA’) members was a remarkable event in many respects – whether in terms of the number of participants and inspiring discussions, networking opportunities or the unbelievably beautiful weather.

More than 140 representatives of member companies from 44 countries around the world gathered in early November in Washington D.C.🇺🇸 to exchange business ideas, discuss opportunities and risks experienced by their companies and clients, and strengthen the bonds of partnership and friendship that bind #AGAfamily members together.

The event was the largest AGA conference to date, with almost a third of the attendees coming from new or recently affiliated member firms – among others from Austria 🇦🇹, Brazil 🇧🇷, Canada 🇨🇦, Chile 🇨🇱, China 🇨🇳, Costa Rica 🇨🇷, Denmark 🇩🇰, Ireland 🇮🇪, Mexico 🇲🇽, New Zealand 🇳🇿, Nigeria 🇳🇬, Norway 🇳🇴, Panama 🇵🇦, Philippines 🇵🇭, Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦, USA 🇺🇸 (California, Florida, Georgia,  North Carolina, Texas) and Zimbabwe 🇿🇼.

Great networking and valuable discussions are the basis of the events hosted by the AGA – we know this well, as it is far from the first time we have participated. Despite this, we were positively surprised this time too.

The two days of the conference were packed with workshops and roundtable discussions, panels, and keynotes across three tracks. While our law firm was represented by 4 team members, we managed not to miss any area of interest to us. We discussed specialist topics such as Changing KYC & Banking Rules and Changing M&A Trends as well as more general business-related ones – on effective law firm management, leveraging the client experience or being an employer of choice. We also talked about corporate social responsibility and current ESG challenges, building winning teams and the advantages and challenges of remote working.

Highly valuable insights were shared by participants of A New Global Mobility Landscape panel – Luc Lamy (Belgium 🇧🇪), Kathie Gaber (USA 🇺🇸), Hunter Norton (USA 🇺🇸) and Graeme Kirk (UK 🇬🇧) as well as panelists participating in the “Changing KYC & Banking Rules” session – Selim Ozutez (Turkey 🇹🇷), Dimpy Mohanty (India 🇮🇳) and Henno Kotze (Malta 🇲🇹).

We are happy to be part of a community that shares our values in terms of business and interpersonal relationships. We feel a strong bond with fellow members of the Alliott Global Alliance and mutual trust, which is a solid foundation for further collaboration. We see that certain opportunities and challenges are common to our companies, regardless of the distance that separates us. And through meetings like this, we have opportunities to discuss them and find solutions together, – says the Managing Partner of our law firm Michał Wołoszański.

I believe that it is our presence at Alliott Global Alliance that allows us to offer higher quality services for our clients, especially those with an international background. It enhances our value offering and allows us to support companies with legal challenges on a multinational level. Moreover, it is a great opportunity for our team to grow within a dynamic environment and to learn from the experience of colleagues from abroad. Simply, it’s a great incentive we can offer to our lawyers, – adds Marta Solarska-Kaleńczuk, COO at our law firm.

Interesting discussions were continued, as usual, behind the scenes, during networking breaks and joint outings. And as the weather (literally and figuratively) was amazingly good, the atmosphere of these discussions was also very pleasant and encouraging.
